ULI Ottawa and CTBUH invite you to participate in another exciting CTBUH-ULI global walking tour.
Since 2014, urban enthusiasts from around the world have been taking part in the annual CTBUH Global Walking Tour. The tours take place with a specific annual theme and are held generally on the same day. In this 10th anniversary walk, we will be interested in exploring the relationship between people, nature, and urban realm in the context of tall buildings. 13 cities from 4 continents have decided to participate in this year.
The Ottawa tour will visit a few projects along Rideau Canal just outside of downtown. We will discuss a few legacy buildings of the modernist era and compare them with the recent projects in and around the Landsdowne Park. The walk will take approximately one hour. The after-walk social will be held at the Local Public Eatery in Landsdowne Park for continued conversations. For the purpose of provoking thoughts, we invite you to take a look at the attached brochure and review Le Corbusier’s “towers in the park” proposal for Manhattan, examples of “towers and street wall”, and a recent “towers above a village” proposal (under construction) by MVRDV.
Space is limited. So, please register (click link below) if you are interested. A $10 registration fee is required and your first drink at the social is on us.
